Renew Wellbeing At Fleckney BAptist Church
We would love to invite you to join us at our Renew Space: a calm, safe space where it is OK not to be OK. Working in partnership with Renew Wellbeing, Renew Spaces are opening up across the country, with the aim of creating spaces of welcome. This is done in partnership with local mental health teams and professionals to help improve mental and emotional wellbeing. A place where everyone is known by name, not a label. Our Renew Space, open Fridays from 10:30am-1:30pm, is a simple café style space with free hot drinks and biscuits, and soup if you come at lunch time. It’s a space where hobbies and activities are shared and co-produced, bring one along! Alongside this we have a separate quite reflection space which people can use if they need a moment of calm. This also gets used twice each session for short time of reflective prayer, which is open to anyone who would like to join. Through all this we hope to provide a space for people to come and feel safe, as well as helping in very simple ways people to develop health habits for their wellbeing.
This is all based around the 5 ways to wellbeing, which are;
Connect: connecting with other people, finding community, talking & listen.
Be Active: Regular Physical activity, sport, gardening, walking, dancing, whatever you enjoy
Give: Give your time, share a hobby, kind words, a listening ear to others.
Take Notice: Be aware of the world around you, the things that bring you peace and joy. Practice contemplation & reflection.
Keep Learning: Learn a new skill, embrace new experiences, learn a new language, or a musical instrument.
We all have mental wellbeing, just as we all have physical and emotional wellbeing. If you would appreciate a space to attend to your own wellbeing, and to develop healthy habits, then please come along, Fridays 10:30am-1:30pm. The kettle will be on!
You can find us under the archway at Fleckney Baptist Church, High Street, LE8 8AJ, opposite the junction onto Main Street.
